Flash Drive

In one of the plastic drawers to the right of this computer, you will find a San Disk flash drive. The drive can be loaned to students for saving copies of their work. It is the only drive we have for this purpose, so it is marked "ref desk" as a reminder that it should be returned to the librarian/student supervisor on duty at the desk after it has been used.

Space Heater

It's getting colder outside, and it's often cold here at the Reference Desk. Be sure that when you have turned on the space heater under the desk that you remember to turn it off when your shift ends. The heater was still on this morning at 8 a.m., so we need to make a conscious effort to make sure it is not left on over night.

Ref Desk Phone: "Can't connect to base"

If you try to use the Reference Desk phone and the handset shows a message like "Can't connect, move closer to base", here's what to do:

• - Unplug the phone's power transformer from the outlet on the pole,
• - wait about 30 seconds, and
  
• - plug the power transformer back in.

If the phone still isn't working, call me at 7074.
