Ebrary record reload fixes off campus access issues

The reload of our Ebrary records into Voyager over the weekend has fixed all of the outstanding access issues to Ebrary titles for off campus patrons.

Remember that Ebrary's new Java-based reader requires Java version 1.6 or later. Patrons can install or update Java on their own PCs by visiting www.java.com and installing the latest Java version. There's also a version checker that patrons can use to check for obsolete Java installations.

All of the PCs in the library have a current version of Java.

SciFinder Web is here!

Searching with SciFinder at SWOSU used to require the installation of the SciFinder Scholar client on Windows and Macs. SciFinder access was also restricted to on-campus PCs.

Both of these obstacles to using SciFinder are now gone. The new SciFinder Web requires no software installation and can be used by any SWOSU student or employee from any PC, anywhere on or off campus. Links to SciFinder Web are on the pages for Science and Math and Pharmacy.

Until April 10, 2009, SWOSU students and faculty can either continue using SciFinder Scholar for Windows/Macintosh, or use the new SciFinder Web. After April 10, 2009 only SciFinder Web will be available.

SciFinder Web requires that patrons register for access using their student or employee '@swosu.edu' email account. Registering using other email addresses won't work.
