An assignment based on our Freshman Orientation PPT has been requested and created for those students who missed the classroom lecture. A few students may approach the Reference Desk to have their questions about the library answered. The PPT can be found on my Faculty page.

(Updated 9/3/2008) How to set up wireless laptops for network printing
These instructions are obsolete. See the LibGuide for wireless printing.
Follow these instructions below to set up your laptop for printing to the library's printer:
- Download the drivers for the Kyocera FS-9130DN printer to the patron's laptop. You can get the drivers here.
- Run the downloaded program, FS9130WHQLKPDL82.exe. When the installer asks you which folder to extract the printer driver files into, type c:\kyoceramita.
- Open the Control Panel and choose Printers and Faxes.
- Click "Add a new printer" to start the Add Printer Wizard.
- Under "Select the option that best describes the printer you want to use" select "A network printer ..." and click Next.
- Select "Connect to a printer on the Internet ..." In the URL field type the following: http://lib100op.student.swosu.edu:631/ipp
- Double check the URL. If anything is mistyped you won't be able to connect to the printer. Click Next.
- When you're asked to select a printer, click the "Have disk" button. Browse to the C:\kyoceramita\English folder. Select OEMSETUP.inf and click OK. Select Kyocera FS-9130DN.
- Click "No" when asked whether to make this printer the default printer. Click Next, and then click Finished on the following screen.
- To configure the printer for two-sided printing right click the printer name and select Properties from the drop-down menu. Click the Printing Preferences button. On the Layout tab select "Flip on Long Edge". Click OK to save the setting.
